To help reach a bigger audience, we have decided to create a video discussing our topic Racism and Police Brutality. We will be surveying people to see how they think of the topic and which ethnicity groups are mostly harmed.

RECOGNIZING RACISM REQUIRES US TO SEE IN COLOR
I mean exactly what the title says — recognizing racism requires us to see in color. If we don’t acknowledge the fact that there is racism in to world, it will still exist and no one will be able to limit or prevent it.
I’ve heard people say “I am colorblind” when the topic of racism arises. I know what they mean to say… “they” meaning white people like me… mean to say they love all races equally. I may have even said it before myself. But I’ve come to understand why it’s not helpful. Furthermore, why the concept is harmful.
I hope I am NEVER colorblind. I love color too much.
Wouldn’t it be better to recognize and see the beauty all of us have to offer the world. Why be blind to something that makes us, all of us, beautiful?
To be colorblind is to ignore the issues that need attending to. You have to RECOGNIZE and see the colors in order to understand the fight. Because the truth is…. society isn’t colorblind. It never will be. And racism is something we really should be fighting against everyday.
The first step in…

Racism. It’s a Thing.
You cannot assume something about a person just because they look different. The most basic saying is – you can’t judge a book by its cover. When people say racism is not real, you have to realize that there is people out there judging a person based on the color of their skin.

We are trying to eliminate the amount of racism in this world to the point that no one will know what racism is. This world would be good again without any violence and racism. If there was no racism, there would be no hatred and everyone is at peace. #racism
Petition Reflection
So far, we have 35 signatures but this is no where near our goal of 100 signatures. This petition has been up for a month and we are trying to reach out to more people. We haven’t been successful in getting 100 signatures but we are trying to. For example, we posted this on our social medias.
The Cure for Racism?
This article is a great example of how reverse racism cannot cure racism. For example, as the man was saying in the article he did not just assume that all black kids steal because of that one event. However, when these certain Catholic white kids insulted a Native American they were just pushed of as “privileged”.

Four days ago, following a heavy snow, two kids from our neighborhood spotted the snow shovels in our garage. One of them already had a shovel, the other didn’t, so he asked if he could borrow ours in order to raise money clearing driveways. Kids offering to shovel driveways in the winter are as ubiquitous as ice cream trucks in the summer, so I said, “Yes, but bring it back in two hours.” They agreed. I went in the house. A moment later my wife came around the corner and saw them taking the other shovel out of our garage. She asked if I’d told them they could, despite the fact that they now had three shovels. They said yes. She shrugged and made them promise to bring the shovels back soon. We haven’t seen them since.
Oh, and one more thing: the kids were African American, as are 3/4ths…

We have made this petition to help limit the amount of police brutality in New York City. It is shocking to believe the amount of racism and discrimination there still is in 2019. The only way to stop it is to realize the problem in the first place — certain police are discriminating against people based on the color of their skin. In many cases, they are shot and are dead while police officers are not charged with any crime. We have to stop them and bring them to justice. By signing this petition we can limit the amount of police officers that discriminate against people by charging them with the crime they committed and taking them off the job.
